ARCHITECTURA VERDE
In an attempt to corral my interests (or I might say obsession with) in small house design, designing with nature, stewardship of the land, and homes that real people can afford, I'm beginning this dialog. It is in this spirit that this site is created...to share others ideas as well as my own, and to provide some real direction towards "a home of one's own".

so my idea is multi-faceted and requires some organization. i'd like to share some of the many, many resources i've discovered re building small, smart, green, creatively, affordably.
there are all kinds of web sites and manufacturers offering a myriad of different styles, sizes, prices. some are diy, some come on a truck, some have a crew from the company come to you. lots of prefabulous products out there. and many architects and designers have sites offering plans with impressive attention to detail.
let's not forget books...remember books? i have a library full and there are always more that pique my interest. books on everything from designing a small house, remodelling, converting a garage to a cottage, gustav stickley's own writing, and books on prefabs and modulars of today (forget the trailer look...think post & beam, arts and crafts, cedar home w/ glass wall.)
so, this is a start. there'll be plenty of links. and, in a while, i'll be putting some of my own small house designs on here. now, if they'd just run that archicad course at gcc, that would save me so much time!
